      Happy Easter Y'all!

This year Easter was missing a few pieces to the puzzle! What do I mean? Well this year we had Easter at home but my brothers, my sister in law, and my brand (spankin) new cutie of a nephew could not make the three hour drive up this year! Booooo!! Another boooo was that my mom had to work the whole weekend......the whole weekend people! Easter just did not feel the same but we made the very best out of the situation! I started out the week by making a few of my coworkers and family some yummy goodies!

      I made cupcakes......I love cupcakes.....there mini......and cute!!!

They are suppose to be little chicks and lambs.......haha.....but the lambs look like lil white elephants!

Hey what do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino????   hELLIFINO?? haha- okay enough of the cheese!

These mini cute lil things were a pain in the you know what!! They took forever!! I made twenty four of them! If you didn't get one well you missed out because I will not put myself through that again! I brought some over for my godchild (who is four) to enjoy......Oh he enjoyed them all right and he ate all of there faces off! That stinker! I wish I snapped an after picture of that!

Although nobody from my immediate family could make it, Scott's aunt drove up to celebrate with us! She is always fun and is always a joy to talk to!! We all went out to dinner at the country club and rushed home to watch say yes to the dress! Our fave show to watch when she comes up!

Saturday was a happy dance day!!! I found all the essentials that I needed to make my Easter bouquets like square vases! We colored Easter eggs......yearly tradition! I know...I know.....but your too old fun to color Easter eggs?? No way....love me some colorful eggs!  Forgot to snap a picture of that too! Booo! And headed off to church to bless the Easter baskets!

After Easter service on Sunday, we headed home for a traditional Easter breakfast at my parents house before my momma headed off to work!! It was delicious and I look forward to it every year!!

My hubby caught me off guard this year and got me a lil somthin somthin for my Easter basket!! I love me some presents......no matter what it is!! You get me something and I will be your bestest friend for eva!!! Even if its a piece of paper that you scribbled on.....if you give it to me i will cherish it for ever!

A sweet lovey card and a bird & cage necklace! I love me some birds! As you can tell by my blog! But wait Joanna, What did you get your lovely husband for Easter? Of course you got him something? Or wait, you probably made him something.....since you were sooo busy making every one else something? Yea its true! Gosh I totally forgot to get my wonderful hubby something for his Easter basket this year! I had good intentions and was thinking of ideas throughout the week! But Easter came and I had nufing! Awww worst wife ever! (sorry hunny....you still love me right?)

We had great weather for Easter! By great I mean it did not rain or even worse....SNOW (we got like 4 inches a few days before) and the sun was out and shining!

And we got to hang out with one of the cutest dogs we know!!

This is Max, the family dog!

Overall, we had a wonderful Easter and we're hoping every year we continue to be blessed with family and friends! I cherish each and every day that passes by and thank Him for all that He has blessed me with!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

So tell me any of you 20+ year olds (without children) color Easter eggs this year? Or did you make any yummy Easter goodies? How about forgetting to get a gift for your lovey this year? Perhaps you spent it with a special furry friend like we did? Tell me....tell me I would love to know....leave it in the comments below!

      Easter Goodness

like love lurve crafts! Crafts are fun and cute! So when it comes to holidays I enjoy making something special for some of my peeps (ha ha pun intended.....Easter = peeps)! This year I ventured out and made both of my mommy's (real mom and fake mom in law....I hate saying mother.....it makes it sound so proper or something) a pretty bouquet arrangement this Easter!

So this was my inspiration for the arrangement!

      http://easter.tipjunkie.com
Oooohhhh pretty!! I just knew I could not make it look that
amazing! And that was a given as soon as I went to our local Walmart and looked at their tulips!  There they were a few of them in a bouquet looking all sad and pitiful.  Not exactly what i wanted for a fun Easter bouquet for my wonderful mommy's! Nu uh...not this girl! So I threw out the idea of getting tulips and decided on using a different flower arrangement instead. But wait I had another dilemma! I needed a square vase to make my bunny peeps look just perfect like the picture above! I swear our local Walmart carried them..........of course they didn't! They carry snuggies and sham wows, but a square vase, Oh no! They were no where to be found!  I went to a few different stores in my area and found notta!!  Even my husband searched high and low for me! (Thanks hunny!) So as a few days went by I started to become sad and nixed the idea of making an Easter bouquet as spectacular as the one above all together! Whoa! Until Scott and I took a drive about an hour away and stopped at Target! Oh Happy Day!! I found them, there was only two of them left! A sign that my bouquet making should and would really happen! So we got all of the essentials:

      Candy:

I got Mike and Ike's just because I saw them at World Market and I they were on sale!

      Bunny Peeps:

I wanted the purple ones but they were sold out!

      Pretty flowers:

After looking at some flowers at a grocery store I fell in love with these colors and they complimented the colors from the candy so well!

And of course the hard to find SQUARE vase and a smaller vase or drinking glass to go inside to contain the bouquet of flowers!

And here is the final product! Cute...huh?!?!

      AND

after coming home the next day I noticed that someone got a little hungry OR maybe those lil bunnies felt very claustrophobic and walked away! Hmmmm......I like a good mystery!

What happened to the row of peeps?

      xoxo Joanna D.

Anyone else love making fun holiday crafts and giving them to your fave peeps (haha I just love the cheese)? Or maybe you'd much rather receive them?  Have you ever heard of walking marshmallow bunny peeps (hey you never know)? So what did you think of my Easter bouquet?

      Fiesta Fifty!!!

Hold on to your sombrero's people, we're having a fiesta!  Sounds fun, no?  So this year my mom is turning the big 5 to da 0! Wow, to me she never seems to age.  As I grow older my mom remains the same age as she was 10 years ago! ha ha. Anyhoo, my brothers and I are throwing my wonderful mother a Fabulous & Fifty Fiesta!  So in this post I wanted to include some fun images I found that are the inspiration for the whole party! I cant wait! Cant wait to get my fiesta on! Arrriiibbbaaaa!!!

So here is what my fabulous photographer sista in law came up with when it came to the invitation!

This is a picture of her from high school?...I think! Shes going to kill us!

As for the decorations.....we are going with a bright and cheerful (just like momma!) theme!

      Google images
Fun and bright tissue paper pompoms in a bunch of festive colors like oranges, pinks, blues, greens...etc!

      google images
A fun colorful pinata filled with yummy candy and toys for the lil ones to enjoy.....but I'm thinking the adults will want in on this one too!!

      google images

Cute lil mini sombreros for us girls to look a lil festive!

      google images

And these mustaches.....ha ha.....I cannot wait to see everyone wearing these!

      google images

We also got our hands on one of these for the party......The Margarator!

Those are some of the things that will make an appearance at the fiesta!

As for the food......this category lays solely in my two older brothers hands! They love food! If these two have access to a grill, smoker, stove, oven, etc.......they have at it!

We're thinking a burrito/taco bar is the way to go for this party!

      google images

The guests can just help themselves and customize there own taco!

And of course staples like chips and salsa, guacamole, tamales, rice and beans will find there way to the buffet line too!

      google images

Oh and wait we cannot forget dessert!! Margarita cupcakes!!! Yes please where can you sign me up!

As for my assistant Scott (my lovely and handsome boyfriend/husband (depends on the day)) he will be the bartender! (what!?!? the kid loves his beer and alcohol)

So there it is! A little insight of what my visions for this party are! Lets see what will actually make the cut! I hope the weather cooperates and my mom does not find out about this party, or else are fiesta theme party might not be as caliente as we hope!

Anyone throwing a cheezy themed party? Does smacking a pinata until you turn blue in the face sound like a whole lotta fun? Or how about that Margarator.....anyone know a great margarita recipe?? Please post any of your comments below!

      Hasta la vista....baby!!

      xoxo  Joanna
